Memphis’ most fashionable patrons came together this weekend for the 1st Memphis Metro Fashion Weekend.
The weekend kicked off at, The Haven Memphis, on Friday with a men’s style event, where everyone came dressed in their best millennial pink fashions.
Hosted by designer and celebrity stylist, Algernon Johnson, the fashion show was held at Premiere Palace Ballroom on Saturday evening.
The show featured the fashion lines: Dom Stefon x Dom Stefon, Immortal Ink x Joe Garrett, Paulette’s Closet x Amanda Saucier, MŸ compilation-1 x MŸ-KÉL Süpremé, Curves Couture x Shun Mignon, Cocky Creations Clothing x Angelica Hamlett and many more.
Music artist Darryl Wayne, along with Ryan Lotus and Preauxx gave electrifying performances in between show sets.
Memphis Metro Fashion Week ended Sunday afternoon with a fashion social. Bigg Smith performed, as attendees walked around and showed love to the vendors that were there. The vendors included: Paparazzi, a Memphis-based jewelry company, Mobile Mixes, Asirvia, a crystal/spiritual shop by the name of Ferocity The Experience and many more.
Also at the fashion social was a panel that featured style concierge, Kimberly Newsom, blogger and photography, Denzal Alexander and celebrity hairstylist, Charles Wes.
Following the panel, De-Mi Ellington performed a spoken word piece titled, “Fire Marshall.”
The panel explained their journeys to success, all while speaking encouragement into the lives of every creative who attended the event.
Reggie Smith, the coordinator of Memphis Metro Fashion Week stated during the fashion social that this was his first time doing an entire weekend of events. For it to have been his first time, I say job well done.
